Airlines to make pitches for Tupelo air service

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — The Tupelo Airport Authority has called special meetings for Tuesday and Wednesday to hear presentations by potential air service providers.
WTVA-TV reports ( ) the board will hear presentations from Air Choice One, SeaPort Airlines and SunAir.

Air Choice One will make its presentation on Tuesday; SunAir and SeaPort Airlines will make their pitches on Wednesday.
Proposals by Air Choice One and SeaPort Airlines include round trips from Tupelo to Memphis and/or Tupelo to Nashville.
SunAir is offering 31 round trips per week from Tupelo to Memphis.

The federal Department of Transportation is requiring Silver Airways to maintain service in Tupelo until Aug. 7 as the process to find a replacement continues.
Officials have said an extension would be issued to Silver Airways to continue service beyond that date if needed.
