Project Comes Into Focus Today

Tri Cities Airport Expansion

The next step in the Tri Cities Airport Expansion Project, specifically concerning concessions, took shape today at the Port of Pasco Commissioners meeting this morning.
After an independent assessment in July, Ann Ferraguto of Air Service Inc. gave her recommendations for the concessionaire space in the airport. The goals focused on are defining space needs, and leaving room for growth.
Among the recommendations were moving the majority of retail and restaurant space to the post-security check area of the airport. Studies say people feel safer after in that area of the airport, and are more prone to have an enjoyable eating experience. The space alloted will remain essentially the same. The FAA requires that other interested parties can request space in the updated airport retail and restaurant areas, as well as the current occupants.
Remodeling of the airport will start in Summer of 2014, and the project should be finished in the Summer of 2016.
