This training event will be conducted with safety officers assigned during all phases and with a focus on identifying areas in need of improvement with regards to coordination and resource allocation.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Squad cars, fire trucks, and ambulances, along with smoke and fire will take over part of a local airport starting Monday morning.
It’s all part of a disaster drill.
The training at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport starts at 10 a.m. Monday. It goes until 8 p.m. It’s a planned and coordinated event. You’re asked not to call 911 to report the incident. Coordinators also ask drivers not to stop and park on Starr Avenue in Eau Claire during the drill. That’s where emergency vehicles will be staging.
The drill is an effort to better prepare the community for a disaster involving aircraft, like a plane crash.
