. February 26, KNDU 25 Richland – (Oregon) Hazardous semi wreck near Hermiston. A tanker truck carrying 10,000 gallons of jet fuel rolled off an embankment and onto its side coming to rest on a railroad track, south of the Oregon- Washington border, resulting in the closure of portions of Interstate 70 for several hours. The driver was rescued and hospitalized with minor injuries before a train collided with the truck about 90 minutes later, though only 10-15 gallons of fuel were spilled. . February 25, Opelousas Daily World – (Louisiana) Hazardous waste spill closes I-49. Over 10 miles of Interstate 49 near Lebeau, Louisiana were closed for most of February 25, due to an overturned chemical truck containing 7,000 gallons of highly-flammable methanol, forcing thousands of drivers to find lengthy detours.
