Aviation Director Promoted to Deputy Secretary for Transit

As an organization focused on continuous improvement, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has made some adjustments to the organization including the promotion of several personnel from within the organization. Those promotions include Richard Walls, Division of Aviation Director, who has been promoted to Deputy Secretary for Transit.

Beechcraft emerges from bankruptcy with new focus

Hawker Beechcraft is no more. The company emerged Tuesday with a new name — Beechcraft Corp. — new owners, a narrowed product line that doesn’t include business jets, and, most importantly, a fraction of the debt that brought Hawker Beechcraft to bankruptcy more than 10 months ago.

Clark County Aviation Director Stepping Down

Randall Walker, the director of the Clark County Department of Aviation since 1997 who oversaw dramatic growth in facilities and technology at McCarran International Airport, will retire in June.

Rosemary Vassiliadis to Lead Clark County Aviation Department Vassilia_clark_co.jpg

Rosemary Vassiliadis will be the first woman to lead the Clark County Aviation Department. She will succeed Randall Walker, who is retiring June 3. Vassiliadis has been the department’s deputy director since Dec. 1997. She is the 11th person, and first female, to serve as the head of the Department of Aviation. She will oversee McCarran International Airport and four smaller general aviation airports in southern Nevada.
